W6 amp

#1 Post by Tom Smit »

In an effort to simplify a setup for 3, maybe 4 W6 monitors, I was looking for a suitable amp to go in a rack case along with the mains amp. The only one that I can find, so far, is the Berry EPQ304. I was also looking at getting 2 dual channel, or 4 mono channel amp boards along with a laptop battery charger or two. Add in independant pots for on front, and Speakons and XLRs on the back for quick plug and play.
What are your thoughts?

I use the NU4-6000 for my 4 channel monitor amp. It's been great and I've had it in my rack for a few years. It's been replaced by the NX4-6000 I think. The one you listed will probably be fine for the W6s.....just remember that their power ratings are quite suspect. If in doubt, step up to the NX4 or try to find a used NU4. You probably won't find anything cheaper in a 4 channel amp than those two.
