TableTuba LS mouth placement

I am building a console stereo using a TTLS as the base. The mains are a pair of Heresy II. It will be centered on a wall with roughly 5' on each side. It will be 6 inches away from the back wall. I will be listening about 9.5' away and directly in front of it. So..... should I build the standard plans with the mouth exiting out the side (towards a wall 5' away). Should I build the 90 degree option and have it exit towards the front or 90 degrees exiting towards the back wall (6" away). That seems a little close, but maybe it's still better than the other options.

I realize that placing the sub directly under the mains might not be the best place, but I have to keep the wife happy and I need a small footprint for all of it. Here is a screenshot to give you a better idea. The TTLS will have an 8" driver in a 14" high build.

What do you think? And thanks ahead of time.

The direction the exit faces doesn't make any difference, its output is omnidirectional.

Hey Marty, I love the project! Not always and not in every space, but typically subwoofer placement 5 feet from boundaries is likely cause some cancelations. Subwoofers typically work best when placed in the corner. But, perfect sound doesn't seem to be the focus of this project. So, I mention it more as something for you to just be aware of and you'll get what you get. Sometimes missing some frequencies you want coming from your speakers is better than getting frequencies you don't want coming from your wife. LOL

I think having the mouth 6" off the wall should be fine. Bill, is 6" sufficient?

Just a thought though, if the mouth was on an end and not firing to the rear, it would give you the option to push the console all the way up against a wall if the need/want ever arose. In your rendering/picture, is the black base the TTLS, or is it planned to go elsewhere in the design?

My TT 2x4 mouth is 6 inches from the corner. 5 feet from a rear wall is NFG, but OK from a side wall.

(In my best Tim Allen Tool Time impression) Huh? TT 2x4??? A quick perusal of the TT info page reveals a minute blurb of it's existence, but why have I not heard of this design before? How long has that been an option?
