I need to refresh the two t39's I have, we've kind of melted the 3012LF's that were in them.
I just need something to get by in a houseparty setting, with as low of a cost as possible. I'm looking at this driver: https://www.parts-express.com/GRS-12PT- ... quantity=1
What would the voltage limit be for this? Is it a "good enough" driver? any other recommendations?

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
Hello stranger.
That woofer you shared has 1/3 less Xmas than the 3012LF, but I think that you already know that. The specs fit. I would venture to say that you can easily limit it to 35v, maybe even 40v.

I don't believe my hornresp model is accurate, best to wait for Bill's ruling on it. In spite of that, mine is indicating 43 volts with a 24dB 45Hz high pass filter.
Have you considered the option of re-coning the 3012LF's?

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
limit to 40v, shouldn't be a problem.
A single recone kit is as much as both drivers would be, and I can't justify those funds currently. The 3012lf pulled was the 4ohm version, which has since been discontinued. I'm not even sure the magnets are the same or if it's just the windings.
These are also supplementing a turbosound IQ rig, with processing between the iq15b's and the tubas handled by a driverack pa2. It's a small space I'm try to add a bit more boom too.

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
If you're not already aware, be warned that mixing subs will, in most cases, leave potholes in your response due to phase differences between the cabs. It very well could result in the opposite of your intended outcome. It may be wise to save your money and instead spend time maximizing subwoofer placement in the room. Example; if there's two IQ15B's and they're in the awful-but-traditional configuration of one on either side of the stage, stack them for a +3dB gain and corner load them for another potential +12dB gain. Try a couple different locations and choose the arrangement that produces the most even coverage throughout the space and the highest output.
Really though, if money is that tight, it's not a wise plan to "augment" the Turbosound subs with Titans. Save the dough or be prepared to use one or the other, just titans or just TS, if the likely outcome of holes in your bass response proves to be true when running both together.

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
They're playing in different bandwidths. its a small narrow room that's thankfully wood floors with a basement. We've been doing this show for a year. Not many options besides right in front of the DJs.
T39s are only covering 45-100hz.

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
90 or 100hz to whatever the crossover is internally to the tops.
Arguably not a lot of bandwidth, but I like the bit of distortion added at the top end of the kickdrum, and they're inline with the tops so alignment is taken care of.
I'm not willing to spend too much to get these running as they're temporary until I build other cabs, and resale on these won't be a lot regardless.
