Looking at building the SLA PRO.
I know how they're supposed to be oriented.
But, they will be hanging from the ceiling and may hang a little lower than I would like.
If mounted horizontally will they sound horrible or not quite as good.
Would that be a big no, no.

That would be a huge no-no. It puts the output pattern on the wrong axis.

Nominally 120 degrees horizontal 30 degrees vertical, but it varies with frequency, wider in the low frequencies, narrower in the high frequencies, as is the case with most speakers.
