Construction methods

#1 Post by Vic »

Bill
I had an idea for the construction of the cabs I plan to build
Instead of rebating (dadoing in USA) could I use 12mm quadrant or fillet timber (right angle triangle cross section) to re-enforce the side to horn component joints. Would this affect the volume significantly, or cause problems with the air movement?
Thanks
Vic

Not in your designs
But some are routering out the side panels to accept the horn components. Would using extra bracing be detrimental to the tuning of the cabs?

I couldn't say without seeing a diagram of the cab in question and your intended alterations.
