Simplexx 212 build

Here's some photos of my 212 box before I close it up. I made a few minor modifications with the bracing. Because the center of balance location for the scoop handles interfered with the upper cross brace, I had to move that one back a little, requiring a slightly angled vertical brace tying the two horizontal braces together.
Also, I made some little U shaped blocks to glue the braces against the sides of the box. These increase the gluing surface area greatly and eliminate the need to nail them in from the exterior side of the cabinet; fewer nail holes to fill.
I also increased the setback for the baffle board from 1 inch to 1-1/2 inches to allow a little more protection for the grills when they get installed; to accommodate this, I increased the width of the side panels, top and bottom panels to 15 inches.

Hi Grant,
Thanks for the nice compliment. I'm staining and varnishing, so I wanted to maintain the outside surface looking as good as possible. I fired it up in the white yesterday, and am very happy with the sound. I stained it last night and will start with the urethane later today.
Once the varnish is completed, I'll seal up the handles and jack plate. I'm not entirely convinced the supplied rear gasket on the speakers are effectively sealing; I might run a thin bead of DAP on the gasket to augment the gasket seal.
I used the BP122's for the drivers, and it seems they'll be just fine for the levels I play at.

Early this afternoon I was staining outside in a T shirt enjoying the sun. By 5:00 pm it started out as a thunderstorm and then developed into cold sleet / snow and the temperature dropped to +7C; crazy weather...

Thanks. I meant to stain it cherry, the same color as the amp rack, but I somehow grabbed the wrong can out of the cupboard. I realized something was amiss after I applied about a square foot on the baffle board, but at that point it was too late.
Oh well, I guess it offers some contrast.
