I've got a 1/4" and a 4-pole speakon that I'm going to be putting on my O10. I hope to do the wiring later today, but I need some guidance being the newbie that I am...
In a previous post, Bill said the use the 2+ and 2- terminals on the speakon jack. For the 1/4" jack, it is not labeled with + and -. It has tip, ring, and ground. If I understood the Wikipedia article I read, tip=(+) and ring=(-). Does that sound right?
Thanks.

Re: Jack Wiring Question
This entirely depends on your end use.....David Carter wrote:I've got a 1/4" and a 4-pole speakon that I'm going to be putting on my O10. I hope to do the wiring later today, but I need some guidance being the newbie that I am...

If this is just for your bass backline use pin 1+/1- only
Most speakon leads you will buy for you cab will only be 2 pole and run on pins 1+/1- only. And as such pins 2+2- are not being used.
If the reason for the 1/4 and speakon is to allow you to use either a jack or a speakon lead (as most bass cabs fitted with speakons do) then you only want to use pins 1+ for positive and 1- for negative and connect the 1/4 Jack to the same 1+/1- pins. Pin 2 will not be used.
On a 1/4 mono jack the tip is positive, the sleeve is negative
