I wonder what the Xmax, BL, Qes and sensitivity of these drivers are. They only have a 1" voice coil compared to the 1.5" on the Eminence Alpha 6 and Faital Pro 6FE200 so I bet the Q is rather high and could make the midbass punch suffer.
Could be the poor man's SLA Pro drivers. Still 8 of them for £48.99 is impressive if you just wanna get some music going.

Sorry I forgot to post it up!

I can't seem to find any pictures on the back to see if they have a tiny magnet or not. No thiele small parameters either but I'm guessing they are going to have a weaker motor than the recommended Eminence/Faital Pro drivers

Hi,
After lots of digging I found these ts specs of various drivers which are branded under different names (Skytec, Skytronic, QTX).
http://www.discoworld.dk/manuals/skytro ... 902127.pdf
I couldn't find the model number of the one listed but at 10oz the magnet is small which is validated in the pictures here:

The closest match for the SLA Pro appears to be the 902.195 but the Fs is still way too low.

It says they are only 83dB sensitivity compared to recommended drivers in the low to mid 90s dB.
I'm not sure though as standardard hifi speakers can do better than 83dB sensitivity. I would expect upper 80s or higher even though not as sensitive as Eminence Alpha 6/Alphalite 6A/Faital Pro 6FE200.
Where I am the Faital Pro is by far the cheapest good option at half the price of the alpha 6

High quality drivers, yes. But these are not. You get what you pay for.

Come on, I wouldn't expect sensitivity to be a whole 10dB lower than recommended drivers. Going by ear at a guess, that's tiny TV speaker level sensitivity. I would expect at least 88dB out of them as they are PA midbass, although perhaps they are voiced more towards hifi woofer range. They seem to get good reviews on amazon. Someone replacing Lexus door speakers with them.
The mass of the cone 26g is what lets the 902.127 and 902.195 drivers down. The good PA midbass 6.5" are all down about 10-14g. This would bring the Q down. A good BL (for 8 ohm driver) is 8 or above.

Very few windings on the voice coil in an attempt to reduce the height within the magnet to improve Xmax? (I know nothing about speaker design!)

I would. No matter what it says in the advertising copy they're cheap drivers. If they were worth considering complete T/S specs would be readily available.

I did manage to find some more pictures of the magnet on these things. For an ordinary ferrite magnet, it is pretty teeny tiny.

Even the Alphalite 6A magnet is bigger and it's a Neo!

After a quick google I found this:
http://files.tronios.com/Manuals/902.23 ... eSmall.pdf
So the BL is 4, Re is 8 and Qes, Fs is 110Hz, Mmd is 14g and Qes is 5!
Seems these things are way under-magneted.
I don't know what the xmax on them is.
