Pop Rivets?
Just a quick, possibly daft question, but is it ok to use pop rivets to attatch handles and plates?

Re: Pop Rivets?
I have done lots of flightcase building over the years.i_got_a_mohawk wrote:Just a quick, possibly daft question, but is it ok to use pop rivets to attatch handles and plates?
The only way I would be happy with that is if you use long rivets that pass through the timber and use a metal backing plate or washers rather than expanding into the wood. That is the way flightcase handles are attached...but why bother.. Far simpler and quicker to use wood screws.

Seems to me that Rivets would be more likely to pull free..... not a good thing.
