Well.....Local music store having an amazing sale on sm57's and sm58's. How good you ask. Buy one at 99 bucks get one free. Never have I seen this good of a deal for shure mics. So I arrange the funds, and people (one per customer) to update all my mics I use for hire out work. So how did I screw up? THE SALE WAS LAST FRIDAY NOT TOMORROW!!!!!
My wife's response..
OK I'm done whining now
I think I'm going to open a jar of "Kentucky clear water" and go get over it

Well, that explains the dead brain cells!
I know money often seals the deal, but seriously, quality is an investment, not an expense... Grant Bunter

Just for the record I rarely drink.
One of the guys in the band I regularly work for is also my business partner for hire out work. He has been doing business with this store for years and has a business account with them. He was given the wrong date as well so I don't feel as stupid as I did. However, had either of us checked the face book page we would have seen it so shame on us. They do a huge sale every year but decided to not compete with the normal black Friday madness and had it the week before this year.So it looks like I can wait another year to replace all my old beat up mics.
The capsules in 58s are near indestructible. I've revitalized more than a few by re-painting the body and screwing on a new windscreen basket. The replacement baskets are cheap.
