Dayton bp102 clone

#1 Post by SeisTres »

http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-aud ... r--295-030

I was looking through the different speakers available for my t39's (in case of upgrading or one blows). I was surprised all the drivers I would consider shot up alot these last few years.

But there is a new dayton driver I had not seen before and actually models really close to the bp102. The big difference is the price: $44 vs $85. Figured this might be a good find for anyone needing to replace bp102's (even not in Bill's cabs) or if anyone wants has been looking for something to play around with.

Of course this post wouldn't be complete without my usual opinion on building these speakers. Should you use 10" on the t39? Not at all, UNLESS width is absolutely limiting you into having to use them.

But wow, they're not even neo's and a few years back i got all my bp102's for $60each. :(

EDIT: Silly me, forgot the link :wall:

Are they at PE?
Or could you pop in a link please.

Nothing wrong with my 20" wide BP loaded T39's (which is as wide as they can be for 10's)...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Might work some, but with how much effort these cabs require (really any cab) and the huge packspace that could house a true moster of a 12", I wouldn't recommend the smaller drivers to anyone.
