Speaker Stands and Top Hats

#1 Post by jimbo7 »

I want to put a top hat on my SLA's, but the speaker stands I want to get have 1-1/4" poles. It seems like top hats are 1-3/8" standard. I don't want too much play, but I could shim them if needed. I have a dealer account and can get them dirt cheap. Am I wasting my time/money with these?

I wouldn't get something that requires jury rigging to work. If they're really cheap I'd also be concerned with the quality/durability of the hardware.
