It didn't help that after I was done, I stood the box up and something rattled. The cap from the locktite had fallen into a woofer, inside of course. Then 2 tee nuts spun on me.

Plus the physical size requires more muscle to move around the shop, kind of like a titan. It didn't get as many cusswords as some of these boxes, but it got a few. The OT is loaded with 2 Gamma 15's and 8 piezos, cut and glued. It's built for a bass guitar, rather than PA. Bill suggested the Gamma's as budget solution.
This is an excellent cabinet. I've heard Yamaha, Peavey and Carvin duals of similar design many times and it's no contest. Cleaner, clearer, better midrange by far. When I had my wife listen she described the sound as rich, which is pretty apt. Full bodied, smooth uncolored. They sounded better with rock/pop than they did with jazz. Santana's Supernatural (my bass reference cd) reproduced the bass with authority, not a hint of boominess which this cd will bring out in spades. The guitars lacked a crisp bite, which is part of Carlos sound. Joe Pass acoustic guitar really brought out the lower mid response. The bottom range of the acoustic guitar had sounded wonderful. The upper once again lacked the bite I like. The pick attack was there, just not as pronounced as I like. I attribute this to two choices I made. The woofer choices, and 8 piezos. This was built as a bass gutar box, not PA. For PA use 12-16 tweeters crossfire would be mandatory. Probably a step up in woofer choice also.
Once I have some bass players try it I'll report their opinions.
Great box. For a single cabinet solution it really fills the bill. If you want mulitples I'd look at other models. But for 2 speaker on a stick performer, in moderately sized venues, this is the box.
