Hello from Toronto, Ontario!

#1 Post by ManvirPanesar »

Hello everyone,

My name is Manvir Panesar and i live in Mississauga, Ontario. I am 16 years old, and I'm an aspiring auto technician :) I love car audio, electronics, and woodworking. In the past, i've built designed, and built my own ported subwoofer enclosures.
Recently, I found out about folded horn enclosures. I stumbled upon Bill's designs around 2 months ago, and i needed one! So i ordered the plans for an AutoTuba, and a TruckTuba. :fruit:

Im currently in the process of planning out my build for both designs. So expect some new build logs! Also, im not too knowledgeable on folded horn designs, so i hope to learn a lot of new information!

I am really excited to learn and to build my new boxes!

Thank you! :hyper:

Just follow the plans, and you'll do fine (and a whole lot better than quite a few people who decided not to follow them!!). I had never done any woodworking in my life before I started my T30/Otop build and now I have a pretty sick rig. Bill's instructions are more of a woodworking course which use speakers as the 'example' build, rather than just some plain old plans like you would get from other sites.

Good luck, you'll have the best sounding motor around! :)

Hello! Thanks for the warm welcome! Its nice to see people from ontario on this forum. It would be nice if some lived near mississauga and had an auto tuba so that i can take a listen!

The plans don't seem too complicated. I will follow your advice escapemcp and i will follow the plans! Thanks all!

We all know what he'll think of the results... what we are really waiting for is to see how he expresses it :D

Shoot a PM over to forum user "loudsubz". I picked up his OTop12s and his T39s for someone else, but he might have an AT. He might be willing to do a demo, if he's still around. Worse he can say is "No".
I know money often seals the deal, but seriously, quality is an investment, not an expense... Grant Bunter

I will PM Loudsubz. Hopefully he responds and gives me a demo. Thanks again everyone!

Welcome to the forum, fellow Ontarian!

Read the plans many times, imagining how each step will go. When it is all clear, then proceed. I say this because sometimes the steps "seem" out of place, but that is only because of possible options, or, more than one thing seems to be happening at a time.

Sorry for the late reply! I've been really tied up with a lot of school work. The last couple of weeks of school are the worst! :wall:

But on another note, its nice to see fellow Canadians on this forum! Also, its nice to receive these nice welcomes! Feels like home! 8)

Somewhere in the youtube section is a blue sedan doing a AT demo, should be enough to inspire.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.

Hi Tom
I tend to lurk here a lot and then had to sign up as I had some computer issues :wall:
