What with that you are going to build the tallest array of SLA-pro's in history?

Haha nah im only building a pair, and a pair of subs. I was expecting to pay 40ish (and pay tax), but i was able to set up a wholesale account with the supplier using my new tax id # (so i got a discount and didnt pay 7% sales tax) so i said screw it and got 10 sheets

First shipment of parts came in, minus 2 of the 4 ohm resistors, the inukes, and the drivers for subs. almost everything in order. PE sent me a angle speakon dish that also had 1/4 cutouts for 1 of the 4 they sent, so got to get that taken care of. Havnt sent signal through the daytons pa 165s yet but will shortly.

making some speakon cables..... 13 gauge PE dayton wire. seems decent. insulation is kind of soft but its clearly better quality than most 14 gauge cables I've see out there

This and the subs, for monitors or a smaller stand-alone system?

There is not much I covet in this world . . . A CNC machine is an exception.
I'm looking forward to this build and a review of the Daytons. I ordered the plans a couple of weeks ago to give me something to do after I complete the Otops, and after I complete a battalion of Simplexx subs, and after I build an XF212, and after . . .
I know the SLAs good to around 100hz, but I find it curious the Dayton 165s have an xmax of 0mm. What's your plan for hi-pass on these?

haha, Its not my CNC. I drove 40 miles and offered a 6 pack of craft beer. It was actually by my friend four around 3k all out.
Heres a bit of a relavent internet argument

Digging up forum posts from pre 2010 it seems many people are infering that the published xmax spec at the time for the alpha 6 was ALSO 0 mm (as they are both underhung designs). I can confirm that the dayton has at least 3.5 mm of one way *xmech* (hits the backplate) with the simple push test.
Maybe Brent evans will chime in here, cause I know he has experience with both the dayton and eminence 6s.
the pair of subs and these will be for a small (limited packspace) standalone system
The subs are non bfm due to the space restrictions (2 door honda civic), and are the result of my first successful fold. pm me for details if you'd like.

True, where mathematical xmax is concerned, as there is no voice coil overhang with an underhung coil. Eminence now measures xmax as 10% THD via Klippel analysis, giving the Alpha 6 an xmax of 3.5mm.

thus meaning that the klippel xmax of the dayton *MIGHT* not be 0mm, but unfortunatly no data is available.
the 0 mm is merely the mathmatical xmax.
