Hi folks,
My brother and I built two dr250s two years ago wihch served us so well. We decided to make a complete four per side dr250 and 8 titan 48s. We started the builds and are almost through however, we developed a huge interest in the otop12_Jarray and so have started to build 8 boxes. we intend to rig them with a method we found on youtube which we used on a different line array project.

Forgive me for not posting pic. i will send pictures soon. i must say the 8 Otop_Jarray builds are like a breeze compared to the 8 DR250's

Looking good... but looking at your sig, isn't your rig just a little bit top heavy?

You are right but my Sig shows only the BFM gear but I have acess to other horn loaded subs I use for big setups. Those are cvr subs. I intend to build more subs soon

Pure curiosity, cave, but why did you build OTop 12s when you have DR250s? Why did you not just continue to build DR250s?

We bought 8 pcs of Delta Pro 12A and 8pcs of Delta 10A from usspeaker.com in the US but decided to buy RCF compression drivers from a dealer here in Ghana unfortunately he had only 8pcs of the drivers available so we decided to build the OTop 12s since we have pending gigs and believe the OTop 12s could do the job. Also the 8 drivers wouldn't complete all 8DRs. Secondly we want to experiment with the flying rig found at the following address.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6gqIQD8ZiY. We Will complete the DRs soon as the OTops bring in some cash.

We progressing steadily on the build I have a lot of pix to post to day. We had to use wood for the Phase plug. We also had to lathe the 3 inch dome out of wood because we couldnt get styrofoam balls. We have all braces and T-Nut speaker baffle installed. All eight HF horns are ready for installation. Pix follows.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your T-nuts are installed in the wrong place. You should've glued the spacer to the baffle, then drilled through both the spacer and baffle at the same time. Then, install the T-nuts on the horn side of the baffle, pulling them in from the spacer side. If they are not epoxied or glued to the spacer, you can save them T-nuts.

I showed the under side of the spacer which will be glued to the baffle. the picture below shows the spacer installed. Hope that's what you were talking about.

We don't know where you are, but could you not get the recommended adhesive?
ie PL Premium.
It's amazing stuff.
Be that as it may, you need to be ultra careful now about making sure that not only are all the joints structurally sound, but also entirely leak proof!
I for one am very interested in watching the progress of the build you're doing.
There have been very few documented J array threads.
That you will then turn around and do the same again with DR's is also quite intriguing.
I'm looking forward to a full back to back (or more side by side lol) comparison somewhere down the track...
