cab finition (painting, polyvinyl sheet...)

#1 Post by gosthrider »

Hi there !

I'm starting to get more confident with cab building, but when it comes to finish it I'm helpless...
I tried to paint them, recovered with some leather imitation fabrics, or glued some polyvinyl sheet on them, but everything looks awfull ! :conf:
Painting seems to be more accessible for me, so I think I will try to focus on that technique.
Anyway, the finish of the Jack lite is gorgeous (the one on the presentation page) And I'm pretty sure it's painted with some specific paint... Tell me if i'm wrong but I doubt it's a polyvinyl sheet finition !

So I just want to know what kind of paint I could try to have some "effect" on the dry paint. Any others advices about cab finishing ?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Use Duratex. You can get it at Speakerhardware.com or direct from the manufacturer at acrytech.com.. Roll it on, use the recommended roller and do 2-3 layers - it will be beautiful :)

As Michael said, Duratex is easy to use and give a very good result when you use their special texture roller. 1 coat as a primer (you can use a brush and a regular roller) and one texture coat with the special roller.
