OT12 - Beta12 build + T48

Greetings,
Planning to start building 2x otop12's soon and have beta12a-2's ordered so thought I will post a few pictures of the build etc.
Still deciding between eminence asd1001 drivers or melded piezo array. Leaning towards to comp horn option as I think piezos will be more
of a concern to put together, don't want to ruin any with shipping expenses.
I'm also planning to build some subs eventually, I was thinking T60 but think I may have found a
possible driver option for T48's.

Available in Aus for $170 and seems to have reasonable specs although I cant find a figure for xmax.
But the 18" model, the JB-1800 has an xmax of +-8mm so so I'm guessing it should be about the same as both are
very similar and have the same voice coil etc but am enquiring about it.

G'day Chompy.
The melded array is better than CD horn for horizontal dispersion, and cheaper (before shipping) than the CD horn.
That driver looks like a copy of a JBL 2226 whose Xmax is 7.something.
Best to find out though.
While it can take a lot of watts, it's voltage limit is down compared to premium recommended drivers.

It does not list xmax, which is critical.

I managed to contact fs audio and they say xmax is 6mm, passable I guess but for $150 could build 2 t48 for cheaper than 1 3015lf. Just doing the finishing touches to my second ot12, pics soon.

Would this be a better choice? 3db higher sensitivity and 8mm xmax but qts slightly low at 0.21, less power handling and smaller diameter voice coil.

It's OK, especially for the price.

Won't it have rather low voltage/ displacement limit if it's Pe is 300W Bill?

It will hit xmax and Pe at the same time. I'd limit at 48v.

Good grief!
Finally, a contender, with cheap pricing, in Australia...

I guess this one should be even better then, 400w and 9mm xmax but even lower qts at 0.19
Edit* Never mind, think I just found the one

That would be it. If it proves to work well one of you Ozites should bookmark it for future recommendation.

Same voltage limit?

Same voltage limit?
That should be good for 60v.
