Hi All - like the speaker plans and forum threads. I have built some pretty damn good speakers, including GR Research LS-9's, LS-C center Channel, and a dated build of a House wrecker Dual 15" Subwoofer. The HW Sub I built is OK, but now looking to build a ultimate Subwoofer- the T60 (overkill?) or Tuba HT. All of my stuff is driven with powerful separate amps. I have a large living room with 14' canted ceiling. Recommendations?

Hi hesster,
Welcome to the forum :)

IMO, HT applications are best covered by HT designs.
What are you calling a "large living room"?

Have you worked out the response of the Home wrecker you built?

Being horn loaded designs, these subs don't need "powerful" amps to get stinking loud.
Think 150 Watts (based on 24 to 25V at 4 ohms) giving you maximum volume.

While HT designs aren't "limited" like the pro sound designs here, you need to be aware that in horn loaded designs, when pushed to hard, subs don't complain (the usual indicator being distortion), they just stop working/blow/cook.
The T60 is a pro sound design and would require limiting to prevent blowing the driver.

It is often usually recommended that 2 x HT cabs be built. This addresses a common problem in HT, that of room nodes/modes...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Appreciate the input - I was thinking of build (2) HT's, powered off of my HT Receiver LFE Channel and driven by a 4000 Berhinger Amp that I use for the house wrecker sub (which I would retire). No idea what the response of the Decker HT subwoofer is, just built it to the plans furnished (dual 15" MK3 Titanic's run in phase). I'd post some pics, but it seems they are limited to 200mb in size on this site.
