Two City Blocks
Two City Blocks
Had a last minute request to play a date in downtown Akron Ohio a couple days ago -- Not too well attended, but another great opportunity to see what 4 T39s and 4 Omni 12's can do. I set up the console about 75 feet away from the stage and was running 105 decibels + at that distance without straining. I"m currently using an IPR 3000 for the subs and an EP2000 for the tops, though I am picking up another IPR3000 next week.
I also had the opportunity to walk down the street - I could hear clearly two blocks away! I didn't have time to walk further, but these speakers are simply amazing! For most indoor jobs, I'm using two T39s' and Two Omni 12's For outside or large venues, I double up.
I've had events with close to a thousand people and a number of people who come up and ask what those little boxes are, or how many 18's are in my subs!

Awesome report!
Is that a Hofner bass?
Are you able to flat-pack the stands for the OTs?

Zoom in, Tom. in Windows, click on the picture, hold CTRL and zoom in with the mouse wheel. It appears to be a Thunderbird bass. Bass player on the left, guitar player on the right.Tom Smit wrote:Is that a Hofner bass?

Aargh! Now I see it. I thought it was a bass on the right. Now it looks like a Les Paul.

It's hard to tell... between the blurry pictures and my faulty eyesight, it could go either way.Tom Smit wrote:Aargh! Now I see it. I thought it was a bass on the right. Now it looks like a Les Paul.

Re: Two City Blocks
The speaker stands do flat pack, The Lead guitar player plays a Les Paul (mostly) but switches to Strat or acoustic. Bass player actually plays an Ernie Ball Stingray five HH.
Here's another pic - hopefully a little clearer.

Sorry, the pics are too small and grainy when blown up to try and ID the instruments. I think the bass player is behind the female singer, just right of the drums? Rhythm guitar on far left, lead guitar on far right, male lead singer in cowboy hat. Cool gig, though.

Re: Two City Blocks
In the picture below, the block oval on the lower left was where the stage was -- the one on the upper right was about as far away as I walked to listen. I'm guessing this is between 200-300 yards.
