Crossover Parts

#1 Post by jimbo7 »

I'm getting ready to order all the stuff for a t24 and I'm stuck at where to find the crossover parts specifically the inductor. I usually get all my electronic parts and stuff from Mouser. Problem is I'm not seeing what I need per the plans. I've searched this site, but came up empty. I want to build my own, not buy one. Thanks
BFM builds:
XF212
T24 BP102 24"
2x SLA's 6-5" mids, 9- gt-302's
2x AT 14" MCM 55-2421
TrT 5" MCM 55-2421
AT 18" JBL GTO804
2x OT12 flat array
2x SLA Pro 2-Alpha 6's 2-Goldwoods
2x T39 24" 3012lf
Simplex 10 BP102

Leland's:
www.speakerhardware.com

Will have what you need...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Are you talking the passive crossover components?

And, what country are you in?

Put a note in the message field it's for a t24. The coils are a shade different. I'll see about getting it updated to allow a t24 option.

I know Leland has the parts and it states that in the plans. I'd like to know if anyone knows of a source like Mouser or Digikey where I can buy these specific components for the t24 passive crossover. I wanna support the site as much as the next guy, but my motto is "why buy when you can build". Plus I'm trying to build this t24 on a shoe-string budget. I appreciate the responses, though

Last time I checked, Leland sold the components separately, so unless you're loooking to wind the inductors and roll up the capacitors yourself there's not much point in looking elsewhere.
In build order:
O12 with no tweeter.
3 x WedgeHorns.
2 x Jack 10 without tweeters.
2 x DR250.
2 x 16" T39
1 x Tuba 24
2 x SLA Pro (sort of...)

audio-components.co.uk is the place you're looking for. I've gotten all my crossover parts from there and they're a great company. Site seems to be down today though... Check later.

That is just the parts. Mouser and Digikey don't carry the coils like we use in audio. They do have the electrolytic caps though.

jimbo7, we encourage you, and all builders, to do business with Leland Crooks, owner of www.speakerhardware.com, forum member, authorized builder, small business owner and all around good guy. We try to support our extended "family", especially those who depend on their small business as their livelihood. So, by buying from Leland, you are not just doing business with a friend, you are supporting an American small businessman. Will you get the best price? Maybe, maybe not. Will you get the right parts for your build? Absolutely! Does he know WTF you are building, and all the parts you need to complete your project? You betcha! Will you have to screw around and waste your time hunting all the pieces down, plus obtaining said pieces? Nope. Need I say more? I have more, if you want more!

Thanks for that wonderful pep talk, Dr. Phil. Or is it the facts-of-life, Dad?

All of you aren't listening to me. All I wanted was a mega-corporation site where I can order electronic components for pennies because I am poor but want nice things. Is that too much to ask?
