TLAH Pro based cab

Ok here's a cab built with leftover 27" panels, based on the TLAH Pro, (it needs to be 5 inches longer to be a TLA, yes?) and loaded with free woofers, given very generously by a friend!

This is all I could find about them:

Type: 8” 120WRMS Subwoofer Driver 4 Ohms
Warranty: 12 Month
Brand: MaxAV

• Nominal Diameter: 200mm
• Nominal Impedance: 4 Ohms
• Frequency Range: 80-6KHz
• Power Handling: 120WRMS, 190W peak
• Sensitivity: 90± 2 dB/W/M
• Voice Coil Diameter: 38mm
• Winding Material: KSV
• Magnet: 30 Oz

It has Gt-1016's, with the hi-pass filter, looking back they should've been cut & shut, because they're too close to the ends...
Has 3 braces for the baffle.
The top, or bottom is open, depending if its on a pole or freestanding, the end with the feet is open, the pole mount end is closed with the mount in it, so they're upside down in this photo..
They sound very nice, around 4khz needs cutting though, could a filter for the woofers help? running a DCX2496, at 100hz pass with LAB12 28" T30's, sounds happy!

TLAH is 40 inches, TLAH Pro (piezos) is 6 feet. You maybe a bit off, SLA pro's are the shorter one's (mid 20's of inches)

could maybe also consider getting the piezo centers a bit closer, but IDK how much a difference it would make without getting them REALLY close lol.

Should've mentioned Missilecrisis that the cab is based on the bottom half of the rectangular TLAH Pro! Sine143- definately integrate the piezos if we like the cab and have more free woofers! Both the cabs cost $82.00 all up,
which was the piezos and filter components, also using the leftover duratex in the pan from painting other cabs,
offcuts of (not old) ply, wire and sound deadening, etc.. Taking them to an engagement party next weekend, so can play with them there after fitting a filter for the woofers, the they'll need no eq at all, maybe just a resistor change in the piezo filter to tame them just a smidge.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciated. I was a little nervous showing these here, as they're frankensteins, and I'm a nube on this scene.

Thats the way the piezos should have been, yea... a much better way. I'll probably end up giving these to the guy who gave me the drivers, need room for my next personal build...a pair of 41'' dual 15 T48's,
or 4x36" T48's, pro's & cons for both, what would you do if you had 4xLAB15's, just sittn there, lookn at you.... (not interested in the Tuba60 yet).

I would build T60's, why would you build that multitude of T48? Are you not interested at all in <35 Hz? It's your money, do as you please :). IF you are set on T48's go for the 4 at 36 inches. You don't want a pair of dual 15's, Someone else will chime in with a story but IMO you will wish you had the 5 hz extension gain you get from having 4 and also you will be scalable with more total output (win win).

Good advice Missile crisis re multiple T48's, scaleable wins. Regarding T60's, It's been all Tuba's around here, low is great, now it's time for LOUD! Havn't built DR280's yet, but a pair should be fine, which to start first?

she looks wide.... think you might need the double braces!

They're a pair with 27inch panels, single braces, 1xLAB12c, and have had 80hrs work without anything breaking up! Anyway were off topic now, Thanks for all the feedback people, a pair of XF210's and 212's for the same customer then onto the Titans & DR280's for me.

i know they work fine, but for all you know they could be plus 3 db with doubled up braces... just sayin. I know we're off topic, but kudos on the tops, they look great, and at 80 bucks the price is nice!

braces keep cab vibrations down. cab vibrations are energy that could be better spent making sweet sweet bass babys 8)

at this point I wouldnt worry about it. but make your next wide pair with the recomended brace count and let me know how it goes. adding the mouth braces and cross brack to my 30" wide t48 SIGNIFICANTLY increased output (at least plus 3 db, based on how noticibal it was, but not measured lol)
