Ok so my friend got his first truck and he wanted me to help him install a sound system in it. I took this opportunity and I educated him on horn loaded subwoofers, and the benefits over passive radiators. He was skeptical at first, but after watching the videos you all provided he is on board. He read up the plans, got familiarized and today at 5 he came over and we started setting up shop. I fired up my DJ system for background music, and the T60s were running at 1 watt at most. I played the void 30hz test breakbeat song, and he was impressed on the sound quality, even at that low volume level. anyways we only were able to put two panels on tonight as it got late.





Oh and I want to show you another project I'm working on too! It's a Honda CB350 that I'm making a cafe racer out of.

I have owned a few café bikes and love them. BUT, they can also be the most uncomfortable bikes in the world. My 1977 Yamaha rd400 had a hand made fiberglass gas tank that was longer front to back than stock, had clip-ons instead of handle bars, and 1/4" foam seat glued to a fiberglass tz250 fairing. It drew a lot of attention, especially since it is a 2 stroke, but it was completely miserable to ride.

I too have many irons in the fire and have been bobbing a yamaha xv750 for the past few months. Very fun build but it is taking me away from the time I need to start my SLA Pro build. Both projects can get addicting with how simple they are to work on, its the finicky small stuff that usually gets in the way and is the time busters.

sorry I haven't posted progress, it's already done and painted I am still having problems figuring out the duratex, how to spray it. about what size nozzle should I use? I'm using this gun http://www.harborfreight.com/texture-pa ... 66103.html. Pretty soon we will be installing in the truck, maybe even today!

It comes from the UK. In the late 50's and early 60's, the baby boomers got to the age where they could become bikers (also known as Rockers or Greasers). They were into rock n roll, denim, leather and motorcycles. Another youth faction (called Mods) were into soul music, sharp suits and rode Vespa scooters. Running battles between these two factions were a backdrop to youth culture in the 60's - but that's another story.

The bikers of that era used to meet up at some of the many, many roadside cafes that were common in that era (they're nearly all gone now, the motorway network has seen them off) and naturally, with lots of testosterone fuelled bikers and fast bikes around it was only a question of time before impromptu road races started to take place; racing from one cafe to the next. It was a right of passage to get "the ton up" (100mph), which was some going for the roads and bikes of the time.

It led to a frenzy of stripping down and hot rodding the bikes of that era to turn them into 'cafe racers', with all sorts of home brewed 'specials' and hybrids such as Tritons (Triumph engine, Norton frame) being bought into life in backyard sheds.

History lesson over, now back to our regular program

Which is where the Scooby Doo characters came from...originally it was going to be competing teams of crime solvers, one of Rockers (only Shaggy remains) and one of Beats (everyone else except the dog).

That came out great! Just one question: How will you connect it to the amp? I don't see a terminal cup or any wires sticking out.

I have it installed on the access panel! I forgot to get pics of it installed, maybe he will drive over sometime and I can get some pics for ya! for the Cafe racer I have the motor painted black, and the frame will go silver. Maybe I will make a build thread for that, because there seems to be alot of interest on this forum!

AWESOME! I had a 1975 CB750 that I was turning into a cafe racer, it was awesome. I had a second pair of handle bars that I could swap out in about 20 minutes if I was going on a long ride. I loved that bike. If I had to do it again, I would go with the CB350 this time around. The 750 was fun, but it was heavy and a lug that didn't handle all that well. I sold it to pay for school.

a 750 could only go 100 mph? I think the 350 hits 110 at redline
