SLA Pros and Tuba 30 at 22" with LAB 12
I'm building SLA Pros with the intention to stack them. They will be mirrored image, so when i flip over one, the tweeters will align. I also reduced the spacing by 1" I think, so that the tweeter will be closer when stacked.
Also the Tuba 30s are coming along well. Although I had one snag. you can see where i point it out. I think I caused this by attempting to naturally align the front panel of the horn with the top panel. More updates soon.

Easy fix, I'll just cut the next panel 1/2 inch longer

here's the two face panels stacked, mirrored for flipping. I was afraid to put the tweeters any closer to the edge. Don't want to loose integrity of the panel.

Nice clean looking build so far
I don't see any holes left after trial mounting in the T30's. Did you do that?

Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Those SLA pros have a few too many drivers? IIRC it should have 4 alpha 6's and piezo's not round holes for tweeters. Might want to reread the plans unless I'm missing something.

In his caption he mentions that the two plates are stacked..... I had to go back and look at it too.

BFM rig:
6 OT12
4 T48
4 WH8
Other:
56 box Electrotec LabQ rig
Way too many cables

I did the final cuts on the SLAs between the piezo holes on my table saw, and used a coping saw for the outermost cuts. I didn't know about a driver spacer for the tubas. I combing through the plans again. I don't see it.
The holes are there, you just cant see them in the photos. I mounted it on the panels and had two t-nuts come loose. I'm scared to torque them down again.
Thanks for the nice welcome. lol And yes, I like to smooth out the PL. Good stuff though.

Anyone as new as me here? If you're gonna start doing this, build the crosscut sled. It's awesome.
Here are some great videos. William Ng is a master woodworker, explaining how he gets his sled crazy accurate.

Bill, I do see the spacer now in the sketch up. I should be able to get them in.
Thanks for all the good work. Quite an undertaking. I really enjoy this. Might find my retirement career.

It's also in the plans, as is the requirement that it be installed prior to the baffle being installed and that the driver be fitted and the driver tested before the baffle is installed. That raises the question as to other critical steps that might have been omitted. Better read them again before going any further.stevieg wrote:Bill, I do see the spacer now in the sketch up.
