hell yes man. i know you commented on my yunx and goth trad event, any plans for throwing some bass music shows in the uk with your bfm rig? all the UK guys have been downright impressed with output and SQ from the Titan 48s so far (hatcha, tunnidge, yunx). i'm sure they'd all like the t sixty even more though.

I'm going to get some more cabs built, I'd love a quartet of these going off what one's doing at the moment. But yeah, intention is to throw our own events because the systems in place in this city are piss poor. Oh and the front brace is done but I'm gonna get the interior cleaned up and painted before that goes in. Work in progress!

Excuse EVERYTHING because the garage is a complete and utter mess. Harley, avert your eyes. :(

Anyway, video number 1 is ready:

2:

3 (when it finishes processing)

There's more uploading/processing so just run through my account to grab them, they'll be an hour or so. If the weather's not shit tomorrow I'll drag it outside and get a few more vids.

Don't sweat it - you HAVE a garage to work in. I either work in the backyard, or up two flights of stairs in a spare bedroom. I envy your garage, with or without mess.

I use the same mixer mate haha. my girl picked it up for me on my bday. I always aux feed my sub amp generally so the mic dont end up going through it.

if you put the tuba on the ground, or even better, against a wall, you're going to be even more impressed. Let me know when you get 4 of em, I know you're about 2 hours from london, but I'll put in a word for you with some of the uk mates for rental opportunities!

I agree with the wall/corner loading remark. turns horns into completely different animals!

I had the opportunity to play around with our setup a while back, the difference is astounding, had our current subs setup in a few different ways. We use 4 Dap XT-15HL hornloaded subs and 4 Nova Visio15 tops.

Where the tops could handle the subs being setup in traditional LR stacks, the story changed when we clustered the subs, when we wall loaded, the tops started lacking output compared to the subs. Finally cornerloading the subs really got things going, The tops had nowhere near enough power to keep up. Bass was omnipresent and extremely powerful and very physical, almost breathtaking up to 50ft.

Whenever we have a corner available, we use it just for the sheer fun playing with these levels of power in the low end

Ecellent sound quality on the videos! Kudos! I could sense the "weight" of the bass through my headphones.

It's 3:46am, my ears have been abused by awful speakers and I'm drunk as f*ck (though clearly not drunk enough to miss-spell things and screw up links). Just in case you didn't get the other videos here we go...

Hopefully I get my hearing back tomorrow so I can play with these some more. I love the advice and nods of appreciation too. Thanks chaps.

They were taken on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7, It's a great little camera for photos and indeed sound quality on video. I love the thing. :D

nice vids! sounds good :hyper:

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts about T39 vs T60?

Also, do you run the T60 from the IPR or the other amp?

Weather's crap today but the weekend seems like it might be dry so I'll break the T39s out and try comparing them. The subs are ran off the QSC GX5 usually, that's how they're wired in the back of the rack at least. I'll give them a go on the 1600 though.

Also I've noticed on that third video Brixton Bass that when I turn up the volume on the mixer at 35 seconds the camera mics duck out slightly... Adjusting themselves to the volume??

I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I sealed up the driver chamber and blasted a few tones through it!

The second one should be a quicker build as the weather is warming up and I'm getting some help, I just wanted to see if I could crank one out on my own. Nice to know I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to woodwork! I'll try and finish this up at the weekend, an awful lot of PL scraping, sanding, filling and painting to do!

I had a friend come over earlier to hear the T39s/OT12s and discuss arranging a club night in a venue in town. The venue 'has a guy' that they charge out for which includes their PA, intention is to roll down there, see how it sounds and compare. Friend was very impressed with the T39s as is, when I turned up a few tracks his jaw dropped ("I've never heard bass this good from a sub before!"). I wanted to get the T60 out but I was still painting it and thus the driver was sat in a box. After he'd gone I got back to work finishing up the T60, sealed up the driver chamber and put pretty much the same tunes I had on earlier through the T39s.

All I can say is if you've only heard T39s then awesome, they sound so much better than the vast majority of subs out there and I really love my Lab12 22" wide pair but the T60? Oh man that's just something else altogether, the same songs now had spades of thick visceral sub-bass, you could pretty much chew on it there was that much. This is only an 18" Lab12 loaded one too, I honestly dread to think what a wide pair of Lab15s can do to a room. I spent a good 12 song run just stood across the street about 40' away with the volume mildly cranked and I was in heaven. I just wish I lived in the middle of nowhere.

So when we see the venue (which is a place I used to go as a teenager but 'new') and we decide they have a mediocre PA then it looks like I'm doing the sound. Apparently the girl who arranges events is pretty much "do what you like" which is particularly fantastic. I need to get a twin for this T60 done and that venue is going to get smashed. :chainsaw:

Bill, props man, these are beautiful sounding.

Great review!

I know there's a healthy argument on here for T60's only when necessary, but I do like the 'what if?' approach. What if I need to play something with low bass, that was made on a synthesizer for example. It seems like the pack space argument soon runs out, as a basis for having the T30's when you need more of them anyway, unless you can't fit a T60 in, any which way you shuv. SPL without the extension is T48 I believe, ...but if one has a Ford Galaxy (like we do), then the 'what if?' for me, leads down the T60 route. :hyper:
