These are the first tops I've built. I built a Tuba 60 several months ago, and that was my first step into BF speakers.

Some notes:

- Bill says to use 3/8" thumbscrews for the stands and brackets, but they're kind of expensive for what they are. So, I used cheap hex cap screws for now. I've considered adding these to them.

- The stand/bracket holes at the rear of the first cab were all 1.5 inches too far forward. I had add extra holes on one stand.

- I chose to go with the Delta Pro drivers for now. I may upgrade to a lighter driver in the future to complement the 1/4"-thick cabinet.

If you can do so you should adjust the coils on your crossover to prevent crosstalk. They're both sat flat at the moment, stand the smaller one up and strap it down secure.

Nice clean build though!

Interesting you say that, I thought it could be further away from the driver also, like on one of the cab sides...

Well that too, the ones in my bog standard OTs are sat in the bottom corner.

Really nice...

How is that plexiglass cover on the Tuba holding on?

Being that it's a half of an inch thick, it's solid!

I can't get over how cool the OT12 J-Arrays are. Seeing your thread makes me want to ditch my regular OT12s and build the new ones. Nice post!

For those interested, I just weighed one of these without base/bracket attachments, and it comes in right at 35 lbs. That's using 1/4" Baltic birch construction and an Eminence Delta Pro 12 driver. The Delta Pro 12 weighs 17.9 lbs. If you were to use the neodymium-magnet-based mid-grade driver as suggested by Bill, the Deltalite II, which weighs just 6.8 lbs, you could make one of these cabs weigh in at about 24 lbs!
