Mods, I don't see a section for the SLA series, so forgive me if this is the wrong place to put this, and feel free to move it elsewhere.

I'm getting ready to build some SLA pro's and as I read the plans I notice there is a section that breaks down the LPF's for the other SLA's, but not the SLA pro's. There's only a piezo filter section.

What should I do here? I will be running the recommended driver compliment.

I'm glad you brought this up, as I've been looking into the same thing the last few days. Thinking of building some kind of SLA's, still looking into affordable driver options over here in Europe. There's some smaller drivers (4") that I might use a larger number of, like 9 high. But these smaller drivers play quite a bit higher than the regular 6" SLA-pro drivers. That would probably require LPF in order to keep them out of the piezo bandwidth. Perhaps I would need to rise the pizzer HPF as well.

I'm guessing there's some confusion here, let me clarify.

I'm speaking about the LPF that goes on the woofers, more specifically the internal crossover. I need a diagram for this, there are included diagrams for the other models, but not the SLA Pro.

I think Bill mentioned that the recommended alfa 6a's natually roll off on their own and therefore don"t need a LPF on them.

That being said, what if I built them with the Dayton driver that everyone talks about? Would I then need a filter or will the Dayton's roll off as well.

Compare spec sheets. You can download them as PDF documents from the manufacturers' websites.

To me it seems response of both the Alpha 6 and the Dayton 6 drop sharply from about 4kHz up. They look pretty similar in that respect. The more knowledgeable may confirm or kick me
