Ceiling grills

#1 Post by Jon Barnhardt »

Anyone have a favorite supplier for flush mount grills for in ceiling speakers?

I'm doing some sound install in a buddies new house and was looking for the plastic white grills to cover the hole in the ceiling where the speakers will reside.

Thinking of doing mini sla's in the ceiling with a rectangular grill hiding them from below.

maybe I'm not searching for the correct term, but I can't seem to find any rectangular shaped grills to fit an approx 14" x 7" opening anywhere...

Something that would attach to the sheetrock and blend in nicely.

Have a look at Parts Express item # IMS-714. This should be just what you are looking for. I have a set of these and can attest to there build quality.
They have a steel backer that goes behind the drywall and the front frame clamps the two pieces together. Very ridged mount system overall. The face frame and grill do stick out from the wall at just under 1/2" so it is not a "flush" mounting system.
Hope this helps.
