some pics from my otop build

#1 Post by Mitchels6 »

This is my first major wood working project i've ever done. Only had a circular and jig saw. Overall i enjoyed the build. Had a few mishaps though. Accidently bought veneered wood that kept peeling after being painted, and not all of my cuts were 100% straight. after painting the box it just made everything looked worse. So i bought some felt from the craft store and was surprised on how well carpet hid all of my mistakes.

I plan to do another set with the melded array as i didn't have enough time to finish them for a gig so i did a flat array. To be honest i was skeptical of how well they would sound with piezos. But once i fired them up i was grinning ear to ear. I djed a reception with them sat night and i booked 2 other gigs that night. Can't wait to get started on my t24s.

Great result for a first off project!

You've got the bug now lol
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Looks good! Otops take on a whole new look with a nice set of grills.
