Pulse LSM214 Processor?

#1 Post by technicaldave »

Was just looking around at processors and management, came across a "Pulse LSM214". Did a search on here and didn't find anything about it.
I'm in the UK, and Farnell (linked to MCM elec/CPC/Element14/Newark) list it as being a new product. For £160/$260 new it seems pretty good value...

Product page

Here's some spec:

Anyone seen it? Seems like a slimmed version of a DCX 2496 or similar, but for less than a hundred quid/bucks less. Thoughts?

I certainly looked at it and considered it but as it was an unknown quantity I sprung for the DCX2496 which has had more people here use it.

Sorry. :/

:noob:

Had a quick look at their product range - it all looks cheap and nasty. Wouldn't want them processing my audio!

I guess until we hear it we can't really make much judgement. Hey behringer has always been branded cheap and nasty but the vast majority and basically everyone would not be able to tell the difference in a double blind....

Behringer get a bad rep as the quality of the parts used tends not to be top grade stuff hence the reliability is questionable...

I have a DEQ2496 and a DCX2496 and the DEQ has gone squiffy on me before now requiring a full reset. It's been used maybe a dozen times at best. I'm not suggesting the Pulse is awful as we simply don't know but there's a point where cheaper may cause you trouble whether that's a Behringer or something else.

Looks very much like a sibling of this: the t.racks DS2/4, which in turn is a relabeled BBE DS24.

The specs are very similar to this: BBE DS26, but with the added convenience of a USB interface rather than a serial port.

I've got the t.racks DS2/4, and it works. Nothing exiting, but then again it isn't supposed to be that.
In build order:
O12 with no tweeter.
3 x WedgeHorns.
2 x Jack 10 without tweeters.
2 x DR250.
2 x 16" T39
1 x Tuba 24
2 x SLA Pro (sort of...)

Ok thanks Rune, interesting, maybe I'll get it and do a review or something.

Just going to point out that if you ever have a need for delay then 7ms isn't giving you much to play with. That only accounts for just under 8 feet of distance.
Built:
17" width 10" driver Autotuba
2 x 29" width dual Lab12 Tuba60
6 x DR250 2510/asd1001
In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience

I guess - I'm not to fussed with the delay though, only going to be running a small system.
