Re: Phoenix BFM love
Well after the overwhelming replies to this thread. ..
I found a local club called Sanctum that has a full funkion system, so hopefully i can check that out tonight.
Also there is a musical instrament history museum that my sister has done some work with. So I may have to give that a look.

Re: Phoenix BFM love
Sanctum was interesting.
Great atmosphere, a wood/granite motif. Made you feel like you were in a gothic chapel redecorated by pre-reborn Anne Rice. Very interesting and tastefully done.
The sound system was less than stellar, good but not great. The highs were there but felt like they were anything but clear, it may have been bad placement (speaker in each corner facing each other over the 15x15 dance floor) or bad source s. When the songs distortions slowed down a bit could hear nicer sounds for a moment or two.
Their light was less impressive than my cheap rig, in fact 2 out of the 4 lights they used I have. That was disappointing they didnt put a little more $$$ into it as the rest of the club seems to have cost a pretty penny.
Vibe was good and a mix of tight leather and studs to just jeans and a tshirt. Definetly worth a checkout on no cove nights, just dont go for the dancefloor light show nor to expect an immaculate sound system (dj may have been issue)

Re: Phoenix BFM love
BTW IF anyone is going to Phoenix or lives there. The Musical Instrument Museum is worth a trip, can take all day, do dedicate an afternoon. Also start in the USA not the Asia/African side, IMO. Humans are amazing at their ability to make instruments out of anything, such a weird universal need that have. They have memorabilia and multiple demos (audio and visual) of most regions and countries. I do suggest the recording booth area of the USA, along with guitar making, the Koreas and the Mongolia throat singing....I also now know what a whirling dervish and theremin is.
Sorry for the late last post, been meaning to post this for a while.
