what the baby of the line can do. Here's just a quick shot of what a four high stack of DR200s can do at 250'. The sound is crisp and clear, I also walked down the road, and it was 85db down the hills and through the trees... lost a little HF, but still quite audible at 650' line of sight. At about 10' in front of the stack, the meter was reading 126db and flashing, indicating it was over range.

Just ran the math on that. For the uninitiated, 99 dB SPL sustained vocals at 250 feet out is well above large venue rock concert level. All on less than 100 watts.

I should have taken some video in the deafness zone... it was so loud my meter was peaked out... so that puts it somewhere above 127db...

Well... not quite 100 watts. My DR200s are biamped... all of an IPR3000 into the LF and an IPR1600 into the HF, plus 2x1000w amps for the subs... I didn't measure voltages going to the speakers, but given that the DDT limiters were flashing, it was probably more than 100RMS.

1 IPR3000 @ 840w x 2 (4 ohm loads)
1 IPR1600 @ 300w x 2 (8 ohm loads)
2 Dayton SPA1000 @ 940w (4 ohm loads)

If you add all that up, it's 4160W of "theoretical" amp power available. Perhaps it was getting that on some of the peaks. However... given that this was running on a 15A circuit and 150' of 12/3 (along with the well), voltage was drawing down to about 90-95 on the AC circuit. Therefore, it probably wasn't drawing more than 10A out of the outlet... hat's also in line with the 1/3 power duty ratings of the amps... 4160/3=1386W.

Anyway, whether it's 100, 1386, or 4160... it's still stupid loud, and crazy fun.
