Hornresp throat help (simple question) noob

#1 Post by DJ Higgumz »

I thought I would take my diy skills to the next level, designing my own recording monitor horn. Goes down to 25 hz 95 db quarter space, I don't need it to get loud. Anyways I know Bill uses a port between the driver and the throat, and I was wondering if that was one of those parameters in the group of ltc, atc, and vtc. What are the plusses to that? Higher compression ratio?

Also, it peaks at 80hz at like +5 db, if I put a crossover at 70hz 12/oct, will it smooth that out along with xover at 100hz? I'm hoping I wouldn't need a eq

Sorry for the noobie ?s! :chainsaw:
Before Fitzmaurice, big bass could only be had with just a hook and a nightcrawler.
