Bassman TV 15 Speaker Replacement
Bassman TV 15 Speaker Replacement
Greetings, all. I have a Fender Bassman TV 15 Combo that I use for small to medium gigs. It comes with a Celestion BL15 400. I find it's freq response, etc. leaves a bit to be desired. I am looking for a replacement, and I see many positive references to the Kappalite 3015. The specs look ideal, except for the 8 ohm impedance. The Bassman amp is a hybrid 350w class D 4 ohm. Any way to make the 3015 work? Any other suggestions? Many Thanks, Kevin Joy

Yes, build, or have built, one or two single driver Jack 12s, and kick that Bassman TV to the curb.joyboy52 wrote:Any other suggestions?

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if all else fails. The amp as is, serves a good purpose. There must be a replacement 15" out there that will upgrade it without too much modification.

Probably not. The world's best driver won't do well in a poor cabinet, and poor cabinets are what electric bass combos are the poster child for. The BL15-400 is a very good driver, so a 3015 won't make much difference. If you put a Mercedes engine in a VW Bug it's still a VW Bug.joyboy52 wrote:There must be a replacement 15" out there that will upgrade it without too much modification.

Thanks. I consider that well informed advice. I've got a nice Mesa 900/Bergantino 410 rig for my bigger gigs. The Bassman serves me well for what I ask of it. Food for thought.
