What design is the LS1200?

some kind of bandpass. 4th order? it has two chambers and large ports. They sound a bit waffley for me.

Bandpass. Better than a direct radiator, but it's no horn.

Guy is now saying they don't have enough power to run 3 amps for 4 MAWS3s, 2 LS1200s, and a pair of monitors.

You guys reckon 220-240V should be ok to run those at moderate levels? (I think he's miscalculating based on the watts ratings of the drivers .)

With proper limiting should we be able to run that system off house power?

Boundary loading works with all alignments.

They are tuned really low for club stuff, but they are just kinda...waffley. try have them and ps15s in the local student union. I have compared them to t48s.
With 240v you can run a hell of a lot. I've run 8t48 and 4dr280 plus a t60 all from one plug with no problems many times.
240v is over 4kw rms, so you should be golden.

Your house circuits must be a lot more capable than our normal ones. To be confident of drawing any more than 10A I'd need to run off separate circuits. I have run 4 T48 + tops off that no problem but it wasn't at full volume. The driver rated power power in the subs would be 1400W, add amp inefficiency @ 1400W and some more for the tops, must be close to ten amps at full tit.

Mm, don't see this. If you give it a bit of legroom and stick to 12A max so you're a touch off tripping something 230 Volts X 12A = 2760 watts max. You'd want 17 amps or so to have 4kW.

Typically 240v is 50 amps. Which would be 12k watts...

In the many places around the world where 240V is mainstream household supply it doesn't come out of the wall at 50A. Commercial installations running arc welders, huge A/C units etc, sure, but it likely won't have a standard plug outlet for a hairdryer or a hifi.

Here the average 240V household wiring is fused at 16A, some 3800W.
Usually there is more than one socket on a single fuse. Older houses can have the entire house on 2 or 3 fuses.
