How To: Pack a Tahoe (2x T39, 2x OT12, lights, rack, 42" TV)

#1 Post by bzb »

I know I promised a billion times to post pics of how I pack, so here it is.

Two 24" T39
Two OT12
Gator slant rack
8 Par 36 uplight cans (plastic box)
8 Par 64 uplight cans (cardboard box)
42" Plasma TV (moving pad around it)
Two 48" folding tables (between the T39s)
Rolling duffel with cables and setup essentials
Fresh linens
Two speaker stands, one light tripod
Two Chauvet Colorstrips in bags, T-bar and rigging (on top of right T39)
Spare Crown XTi 2000 and Traktor S4 in case (front seat)

In the front seat I'll put a Martin EFX600 and my laptop bag, and I'm ready to go.

If you would be so kind. Can you tell me how your T39,s are loaded? I can only see the one in the photo. I have the same Gator rack and a pair of 15" powered tops with stands. I am wanting to load 4 T39's but am unsure if they will fit. Thanks in advance.

In picture two, you can just barely make out the second T39. It's basically in the same spot next to the one you can see, just pushed back enough to get the OT12 in. The two light bags are sitting on top of it.

No way I could get another T39 in it. Maybe if they were 18", I could fit 4, but that's really pushing it considering the lift gate plastic trim only has about 35" of clearance.

Sorry I think I may have not posted the question right. I have a 2001 Tahoe and wanting to know if 4 T39's will pack into the Tahoe? Either standing up or laying down. And still have room for my Gator rack.

T39 are 39" tall, so you can't stand them up in many vehicles. They are 19" deep and optional width, minimum 16".

It's van or trailer time for you, or else build the slims (less wide than deep), but they won't leave a lot of room for the rest of your gear and leave a lot of performance on the table.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.
