I just bought the last XTI 2000 from Musicians Friend so that I could use it for my 4 T39's and move the XTI 1000 to monitors, but it got damaged in shipping, so they sent me a 2002 for only slightly more money. What I'm having is compatibility issues (I think at least). I have an XTI 1000, XTI 2000, and now also an XTI 2002. When each amp is linked individually via USB, it's fine. However, when they are all hooked up together, the 2002 randomly connects and disconnects. Then, the other ones will do the same thing once in a while. I'm using a Belkin powered USB hub going directly into my laptop for testing. I tried an unpowered hub; same thing. I tried switching out the usb cables; same thing. I tried restarting everything multiple times; same thing.
BTW, I'm using System Architect because an updated version of Band manager is not out yet for the XTI 2002. Is there maybe a setting in System Architect causing this?
Anybody have the same problem maybe with only the older XTI models; or do they always work when 3 or more are linked up together on a USB hub?

Quite some Crown owners here, but that might be too specific of a situation for people here to reproduce your issue. You may want to register at the Crown forums and ask there. The Crown tech support staff are knowledgeable and very helpful.

Hmmmm, seems they are mighty slow out of the blocks on this.

That is why. In reading the manuals, they state pretty clearly, not to use hubs, but to connect direct to the USB Bus. If your laptop has a PCMCIA card slot, just pick up a PCMCIA USB card at most any computer parts retailer. I recommend the SIIG 4 port, as I have used 2 for over 6 years now without an issue.hoovie87 wrote:I'm using a Belkin powered USB hub going directly into my laptop for testing.

Are you using the lastest ver of SA? Also make sure to update the firmware on the 2002. The newest ver of SA should prompt you to do that.

That's surprising, I once had a question a few years ago and got a very helpful answer from a knowledgable Crown engineer.Gregory East wrote:http://hiqnet.harmanpro.com/forum/showt ... nd-Manager

Re: New XTI 2002 - NEED HELP
I got in contact with Crown and they have heard of this problem a lot. However, they have not been able to pinpoint a reason for it happening. There are too many different circumstances in which it happens. So, what I did was I just EQed up my monitor speakers on the XTI 1000, disconnected it, and I'm just going to run the two XTI 2000's from the lap top. Sounds better than running another 125' cat5 since I just used a million zip ties to attach it to my snake. The PV900 the XTI replaced didn't have DSP anyway, so, I won't miss it really. On a side note, I'm glad to unload the PV900 due to it's HEAVY weight and small output and sound quality compared to the XTI
.

That's what I'm talkin' about.
