Coming from the home audio world I never really dealt with stacking speakers much.
So when is enough enough? How long can I make my chain? What am I losing with multiple speakers in a run? Pending I can make all the resistance balance out to 4-8 ohms, there has to be a limit. What happens if I stack 16 DRs on one channel running the whole stack at 8 ohms?

Nothing special, other than that you need a pretty powerful amp capable of redonculous voltage swing to use the stack to its full potential. And the wiring to make that happen will be a weird beast. Not easy to get it right on a busy day of rigging.
The scalability sucks, and it's just more convenient with more small amps.

In build order:
O12 with no tweeter.
3 x WedgeHorns.
2 x Jack 10 without tweeters.
2 x DR250.
2 x 16" T39
1 x Tuba 24
2 x SLA Pro (sort of...)

I've played some big events and would never envision needing more than 4 per side. Any bigger than that and you are looking at flying the PA anyway...subharmonic wrote:Coming from the home audio world I never really dealt with stacking speakers much.
