Setting limiter using sine wave..

#1 Post by dno1gtbai »

i am trying to set the limiter on a DRPA+ for 2 tuba 30 loaded with 3012lf..
i was reading and i cant seem to get a straight foward answer on what frequency to use. the DRPA is set up as HP 35HZ and LP 90hz. what HZ do i need to set the limiter?
and what hz do i need to set the limiter for two Jack 10 , and at what hz should i run it?
this set up will be playing out doors..

thanks guys

The test tone should be at least 1/3 octave away from any crossover frequencies. You can move the crossover frequencies during the limit setting process if necessary. I use 60Hz for subs. I use 1kHz for tops or full range speakers.

Remember that when setting the limiter is it not necessary to have the speakers connected. The point is to limit the output of the amp, not to actually hear a test tone through the speakers (which would be VERY annoying).
