I'm Andy, live in a small town in western N.Y.... Electronics tech
Play music at parties few times a year, PA support for stuff in the village and some FoH for benefits and one 2 day festival. Just enough to make it not worth renting equipment. Beer is usual payment.
I'm cheap so i usually wait for sales, b-stock or ebay. Try to limit spending to 1 major purchase/year
I have 2 EP 2500
2 Impulse 1012
2 pv118
2 Pr-10 (for stage monitors)
XENYX 2442FX (board)
DCX2496 (crossover)
ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ3102
100' 16x8 snake
I have enough volume on mains for anything i do, subs are usually running 110%. What im looking for is a boost in sound quality
got plans for t39, wh10, dr200.... should have gotten the cd.
Just started cutting for first of two 23.5" T-39's, playing sound guy again in 2 weeks. hope to have one done by then.
If all goes well on this build ill probably try stage monitors next, wh10 way bigger than i though. oh well
dr200 might change to ot12 if i end this build with 9 or less fingers.
Hi all

Hey Andy,
Welcome to the forum man. "This" is the happiest place on earth!
I've got some of the same gear you've got. Not sure what you know already, but absolute required reading is the Subwoofer Placement Rules if you haven't seen it yet. That alone helped my sound tremendously; once a pair of BFM subs entered the equation, it was just ridiculous how much better it was...just unbelievable. For my uses the subs just cruise along...I don't think I've ever approached "war volume". Once I have another pair...maybe so.
The 39's are very popular here and will serve you very well.
Donny

Re: Hi all
I think i have read every post on the board, more than once
Started planning last year and have only changed my mind a few hundred times, then i go out and remeasure my vehicle and im back to t39's. It really is just what i need.
The Pv118's get heaver every time i move them, just need to find a sucker that wants them now.

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum.
You can't go wrong with the T39 - fabulous cab.
The DR series are the flagships but the OT12 is a very worthy cab and would probably better match the sensitivity of 2 T39's more than the DR's.
Depending on driver choice, wood type and whether or not you choose butt versus back face, the DR's can be tricky to balance on tripods.

Excellent start. You're not the only one who's done some mind-changing.Andy wrote:I think i have read every post on the board, more than once

You might think about doing WH8s instead of WH10s. I'm told given the almighty thumpage that's going to come out of the T39s means that FOH will probably be enough for bass. Given the price difference between Beta 8as and 2510s, you'll come out well ahead.
Re: Hi all
After looking at the size of the wh10 i am going to change to wh8. I high pass the stage monitors at 90-100 anyway.
I finished my first t39 yesterday, finished enough to play anyway . Wood shop was many years ago. Many simple mistakes/much learning. I probably hadn't used my skill saw in 15 years. Next one should be simple.
Planned on taking build pictures but my camera would have just ended up glued to something.
