can my DCX2496 be repaired
can my DCX2496 be repaired
i purchased the DCX used. individual said there were no problems with it and i may be stuck with it. input A doesn't work and has the egg frying sound. input B works about half with noises also. looking to have it repaired if possible. i've sent a request to Behringer. just waiting on a response. didn't know if anyone else has had one repaired.

Re: can my DCX2496 be repaired
IIRC the frying egg sound was a problem with early units. The case would make contact with the PCB. I believe the solution was to glue a piece of thick plastic (think blister packaging) between the PCB and case. That may be a place to start. Also in lots of electronic equipment, ribbon cables are always suspect. Take it apart and have a look.

What Wally said. Also, the power supplies in some of the 1u Behringer equipment are not up to the task. Search the web for the DCX, don't know the specifics of the ps in there. In some of the units regulators may need additional cooling, power supply capacitors should be replaced with better quality, higher capacity, wider temperature range.

i'm going to try a few fixes and see what happens. i had input b running last night and it was a difference (good) from my samson cross-over. if not, i'll try to sell and re-cope some of my money.
