hey you all....longtime reader here, first time poster....

#1 Post by Patrick Mos »

Hey there,

let me introduce myself. I'm Patrick, from the netherlands, and I am a BFM addict.

I came across this site about 3 years ago, and since then everything i thought i know about music and stuff got turned upsidedown... god what a ride... i wanna thank all off you forum posters for your knowledge. I never needed to post something here, because every question got answered in another post. ( learned how to search here  )

after 2 years of reading i jumped off the fence ( that's what you guys call it? i'm dutch, so some things are hard to translate for me ) and start building 2 T39 (27 inch wide) and 2 dr200....

that was a very frustrating build. I did everything wrong. I used MDF, wanted to build everything in a week. The first 3 times I tested the T39 it was full of airleaks and sounded weak. And the dr200....man... i almost trew them away. ( glad i didn't.....lol ). I wanted to build them to fast....wanted to get them done for a weddingparty.

i decided to give myself more time, so i can build them right. I did the weddingparty with my old set-up, and i began to repare my faults on the build. after two weeks of reparing i started up the T39.....MAN! I really dont know how to descibe it in english.... I thought i turned on two, but it was just one T39....I thought i was in heaven....

Then the dr200... i build them with the asd1001 i got laying around, and got them bi-amped. I never, NEVER heard a speaker that sounded so bright, open and powerfull...to make a long story short ( well...short...i think i am setting a record for the longest first post. ) I fell in love all over again...

for two years I've done my gigs with this set-up...two T39, deltalf loaded and 2 dr200...never had a complain that I was to loud, always compliments about the sound.

Last year a friend came up to me and asked if I was intrested in a gig. He organised easter celebrations on christian highschools. ( i hope that is the right translation ). Not your typical easter, but a cool dance/hiphop thing, with a message. I said yes, and thought to myself "hmmmm....i need more bass...let's build 2 more T39, but now with the premium driver....  )

I build them....first time right this time....baltic birch, enough time. only got 3 airleaks....

last thursday I fired them up all four for the first time....i was in heaven all over again. The old T39 on channel one, 35v. The new T39 on channel two, 50v. It filled the school's auditorium, and the first floor classrooms with bass...

next build: two more dr200 ( maybe with ribbons? )...

let me introduce myself....I am Patrick, and I am an addict.

Welcome Patrick. As a current addict myself, I will try to help when I can. Since there is no cure, one simply has to keep building. Good luck!

Welkome patrick! En gelukwens op uw BFM uitrusting!

And now there are three(?) BFM'ers in the Netherlands? (AndtonZ, Thijs666, and you).

Welkom Patrick :)
Als je in de nabije toekomst nog T39's wilt bouwen met de 3012LF, dan zou ik ze nu kopen. Thomann heeft de verwachte prijsverhoging van Eminence neo's nog niet doorgevoerd.

("if you feel like building 3012LF loaded T39's in the near future, better stock up on drivers now")

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! Technically I already was a forum member, but i just didn't post anything...

@AntonZ: Dank je, had de prijzen al gezien op Thomann ( thanks, I already saw the prices on Thomann ). Too bad my ship with the gold coins didn't come in yet....hopefully this month. i see 2 3012lf in the future....and a Yamaha board...and 3 new amps... :noob: :noob: :fruit: :fruit: ( God, i need another hobby...even my oldtimer ( a MG Midget from '64 if somebody is intrested ) isn't that expensive....)

@ Tom Smith: Lol...got some family in the Netherlands? Yup, and now there are three... I am trying to get the dutch people intrested in BFM-cabs...but the dutch are conservative. There are some dutch speakerbuilder forums, but the general level of expertise is.....well....how shall I put it....
:bash: :wall: :slap: :bash: You guys thought there where some noobs here? Thry the dutch forums. ;-)

I hope i can educate some people in the Netherlands the things I have learned here on the forum. So BFM cabs wil take over Europe....Next step: The world!!!!MWOUAHAHAHAH!!!
