Any comments/recommendations/avoid like the plague on this DSP box? All replies welcome as there's one on ebay now with 2 odd hours to go.

BBE is a nice brand for that. It's on the same level as the lower lever dbx processors (dbx driverack pa). I believe monomer and someone else run this set up. Some prefer them over the behringer ones.

I picked up one 2 weeks ago for $200 cdn.

It was basically brand new just opened to test the box to see if it was working (was a return as his original had taken a brown out and messed up the power supply).

I am tweaking it now and going to use it. From the research I did it was a little limited on features compared to the DCX2496 but from what I could tell people were happy about is reliability and rock solid performance, that was a bigger factor to me.

I love mine, for the money.

I have blown it up, running at low voltages (96VAC on the furman) BBE replaced it with a new unit, all in less then a week.

The only downfall is the limited delay and non-graphic eq's. Otherwise, it's a fantastic unit.

You can actually tune with parametric EQ far more precisely than with a graphic. It's just a learning curve.

Is that similar to the smiley curve?
;)

only 5 bands per output.

lot harder to tweak on the fly.

This is exactly why I decided against the dcx. Everything was going perfectly and almost added it to the cart but once I read it did not have the 31band eq, I took the dbx in a heartbeat.
