24 Hour THT!!

#1 Post by Splatmaster527 »

Ok so I got back home from Colorado yesterday (err wait now...wed since its 5AM) but anyway I had been itching to get started on my THT for week or so
Today I went and got 3 sheets of Arauco ACX 1/2in ply and got to work
I spent about 12 hours on it and im pretty much as done as I can be for now...
I cant put the second side on because some of the braces need clamped to stay put while they cure
but Ill throw the side on and paint her flat black and drop in the driver tomorrow and I may have completed the fastest ever THT haha :hyper:
so heres some pics of the process
I might marry this straight edge...love it!!!
Image
all drawn up
Image
access panel cut
Image
I feel like just as with any other box ive built the first vertical board is always a PITA!!
Image
circle cutting
Image
ill skip most of the boring step by step photos unless anyone would really love to see them...

So yeah there it is...12 hours worth of work and shes not lookin too bad id say
i mean its not perfect but i dont really give a damn if it doesnt look pro...it will slam either way

let me know what you tink

A nail in the spout would have minimized this. :)

I have one of those big boys, but guns for that size tubes are not available on this side of the pond :wall:

Good for cost savings and a forearm pump but they are not convenient for anything smaller than the biggest cabs..

I was just chatting through PM with another forum member on this - I should be able to come up with some kind of DIY caulk gun for the big tube. No room for any of the big cabs though.

I don't know how much there's actually in the big tube, will see if I can make a pic of it together with a regular size tube (300ml). It is quite a bit bigger and heavier.

Release lever? Is that what that little tab I have to hit with the hammer does? Too bad it keeps running out. :( Of course the price difference make's it worthwhile. :)
