A couple of Jack 1x12, Otop 12's vids...

#1 Post by Frankie G »

I'm having a little fun in the middle of Down on Me and at the end of Gold Dust Woman! My girlfriend captured this with my phone. Just a single Jack 12 for my bass rig and the Otop 12's for vocal only duty. Also got he wedgies out!

Thanks and I do not currently have a 5 string but to answer the question it does just fine and notes on the b, or an open b, sound just as loud and articulate as anywhere else on the neck. This is the longest I've been without one in a LONG time! I just sold my Warwick Corvette $$ 5'er to fund the purchase of a custom order Music Man SR5 HH in Pacific Blueburst with matching headstock, maple board, and white pearloid pickguard. The MM was due March 18th. I was told by my Ernie Ball rep that they are running a couple weeks behind and it will be here by April 18th. Anyways, I do have a Fender Jazz 6 string passive bass and I was actually thinking about doing a video with it but I think I'm gonna wait for the MM and do one then. That could be her big debut! Or I could do a video with both since they are totally different animals. Anything in particular, song wise or anything you would like to hear?

thanks a lot for the input. and I love music Man basses I wish I had the cash to get one they play like they were made from music lol. but I can't wait I'm looking forward to the vid. been going threw a couple of possible set up ideas with the cabs available here and I'm finding it hard to decide whether I want to run an OT12 with a T30 or just two J112s the reply you just gave me helped a lot thanks.
And song wise I don't know really... lol i play lots of roots reggae and stuff like that so I really don't know what you play lol

One of my favorite songs to play on this rig is Santeria by Sublime. That'll touch on some of that for you. You can feel the air blowing out of these things and hitting you like there was an 8x10 behind you! I'll put a vid together and throw it up when I get some time maybe tomorrow. My 6 string wouldn't mind the air timet! Do keep in mind that it will still be my phone taking the video though. As far as what music, I play anything from drop tuned down to A Korn stuff, to country, to funk, straight to the Victor and Stanley jazz stuff. It's what I do!

sweet stuff I always take into account when someone had video unless you hook up an external mic the audio is always kinda poopy so don't worry too much I'm looking forward to the vid might just seal the deal for me on the jacks.

Just through up another vid of me playing Santeria by Sublime. I changed the bass line up a little so I could bounce of the low B a little but this camera can't pick up the really deep stuff to well.
