Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement

Hi to all

I am a noob on this forum so feel free to move my post if you think this is in the wrong section here

So here's the story...
I have just started DJ-ing locally and was looking to upgrade my current pa system to BFM speakers, so to start with I'm getting 2 DR250's and 2 24" wide Titan 48's and am planning to use them with an XLS1500 Amp.
So if it says on the crown website that the XLS1500 can deliver 525Watts @ 4 ohms into one channel does this mean that if I have 2 speakers on each channel in parallel that each speaker would receive 525Watts of power or 262.5Watts?

Finally, if you look at the custom paint drawing there, is that the right way I should be corner loading one of the Titan 48's? (The squiggly bit is the horn mouth facing the corner )

262.5 each Speaker.

For 2 DR250's a channel would be fine, but for 2 T48's using the 3015LF, it would be way under powered, considering you would need at least 900 watts. Each T48 would need 450 watts.

For single corner loading the T48, you would have to stand the cabinet up and face the horn into the corner.

DJ Terrabass, I can't stress enough for you to be careful when using only one sub. All true horn-loaded subs like running in multiples. The horn filters out distortion, so they will sound different, perceived as less volume. Get in the habit of using at least 2 subs, and V-plate when you can. I did read the sub placement thread but I have a pretty major gig coming up in a few weeks and don't think I'll be able to build both sub's by then so I was just wondering on the best way to place one of them before I could get 2 completed

And I might try using the XLS1500 to bridge the Titan 48's and look at another amp for the DR250's in that case

You can stand the T48 straight up, and into the corner the right distance. IOW, it does not need to lay down when there is only one cab.

You can do both, standing or laying down. you could even flit it upside down if you wanted, but I don't see why. Personally, I was never a fan of vplating. WAY too much floorspace taken up for the smaller places. It's nice if you have the space as it basically does give you free db's, but I just never had any use for it.

Also, if you're only going to use one, High pass it at 45hz and let it rip. Just keep an eye on voltage as the dr's will easily outrun it, so don't try to push it too hard. Once you start adding cabs, you can start lowering the HP point if you so desire.

And no, the horn does not filter out distortion. It might filter out some of the harmonics and it might lead to having less distortion due to it's higher sensitivity and therefore less cone movement, but the distortion is still there.

So right now I have got an XTi2000 to power both the sub and the DR250 top I have.
Could someone please give me good frequencies for:
The low-pass filter for the Titan 48?
The high-pass filter for the DR250?
And a good crossover point for them too?

Hi again

Well I ended up paying Harley to build both cabinets for me (Great job done btw) as there was no way I could have made them without investing quite a bit of money and space for a workshop at my current house.
He has kindly sent me some of the relevant sections of the plans to look at (for Vmax, etc) but I was wondering if I could have something clarified by someone on the forums as to how I am running my setup right now:

I have the DSP on the Crown XTi 2000 set for:
40Hz Butterworth HP filter for T48
150Hz Linkwitz-Riley LP filter for T48 (Crossover effectively)
150Hz Linkwitz-Riley HP filter for DR250
20kHz Butterworth LP filter for DR250

Does anyone see any problems with this? Particularly with the higher than usual crossover point used? I would usually have it lower but all the people who compared the potential points with me thought it sounded more seamless with the DR250 @150Hz than with anything else. I have a gig coming up this weekend so any blown drivers wouldn't be appreciated
Would someone also please explain why a lower HP filter can be used with more cabinets? I know horn loaded sub's gain better low frequency extension in multiples but how does that change the driver's ability to handle lower frequencies?

Over 100hz for bass becomes directional. You may want to try lowering from 150 to 100hz and also discontinue the use of linkwitz.

Ok thanks, after messing about for a while setting the EQ's and filters again I have changed both crossover filters to 105Hz Butterworth@48dB/octave slopes and that sounds best at high SPL's.
