IPhone app for recording a line feed from a mixer?

Anybody know of an IPhone App that will let you take a line out from the mixer for a simple recording of a show?

There are a bunch of apps that use the mic, but I can't find one that will take the line in approach.

Is there a way to line-in to the iphone/ipod without an external device using the dock plug? I know there are devices that allow mic ins, etc. Maybe there's pins in the connector for line in but you'd need a special cable.

After years of taking information away from this site, now i get to share a piece of information I stumbled upon.

As I understand, it depends on which phone model you are using. KVconnection.com has various adapters that plug into the iphone head jack, some for mic level and some with attenuation for line level. They run in the $20-$25 range. I ordered 3 different adapters and had really good service from them.

Sorry I missed the point because the hardware connection was the issue for me. I am using Pocket WavePad because it was free and did all I needed it to do. There are apps out there that allow for multitrack recording and for the price of the app one isn't out a bunch if you try it and pitch it. I don't see the editing feature as much of a plus because of the small screen. Although some trimming will be needed to manage file sizes.

Should say hardware wise, if you should want to use an external mic it needs to have an impedance over 800 ohms (1-2 k-ohms recommended) or the internal mic will do the recording not the external. Not your issue because you want to use line voltage.

I think all recording will be in mono, unless someone knows of or can come up with a USB set up.
