I have done a few hours of research here on the Crown XLS1000 and found some good and some bad. I understand the Low Pass and High Pass issue, in which I would not be able to set both hi and lo on the same channel. I believe this is the biggest issue that I would be facing running the t48 with the xls1000. As of right now, the t48 has a delta15lfa driver. I plan on upgrading to the 3015lf, but it looks like the upgrade will be delayed a bit

Anyway, my question is would the xls work ok for a while with no other processing other than the built in DSP? I plan on setting the limiter more conservative than normal. The way I plan on doing this is using a signal generator running the tone down to 20hz or so, and using a scope to catch transients (I'm an electronics instructor) keep the voltage at 35 - 40 volts max using the xls's built in limiter. I fully understand there is a risk of blowing the driver, but I don't want to pop it during the first gig with it, if that makes any sense. Up to now, I haven't used a limiter, but I keep a close eye on my levels.
The other reason is I need another amp for my tops, so buying the xls will get me back going for now, until I can afford the xTI series for the sub. Then I will already have the xls for the tops.
How many problems do you see with this setup.
