Power for Omni15 TB or Two Jack 112's

#1 Post by Proton Lenny »

Hello,

New to the forum. Been so much good info here. Learn something new everyday. I just wanted to ask a quick question to the more engineering inclined.

Thinking about building either an Omni 15TB or two Jack 112's as a bass rig. I'm gonna go meet up with Leeland hopefully and try both before I buy the plans and parts.

Anyway, I have a Thunderfunk 750-A for a head that pushes about 375w at 8ohms and about 750 watts at 4ohms. Just wanted to make sure this was ample power to push these cabs appropriately. I'm planning on doing the Omni 15TB with the Kappalite 3015lf by the way. So the omni should be an 8ohm cab and the two jacks in parallel should be 4 if I'm correct....

Not sure which I'm gonna decide on between the omni and the two jacks, but just wanted to make sure my amp wouldn't be lacking in the power department. From what I've seen others say they use with there omni's and Jacks, I think I should be fine.

Yeah, I love it. That's why I'm hoping it is more than sufficient power wise.

It's oooooooodles of power. The efficiency of these designs means they make a lot more noise with less power than you're used to. Your tone may need some tweaking but the amp won't go past "4".

Great to hear. That's what I figured. Especially with the really sensitive Kappalite 3015lf.

You might consider a pair of the new Jack15s ... looks like they'll really bring the thunder.

I built the O15TB recently and installed the Kappalite 3015lf. I power it with a Markbass Little Mark III which puts out 300W RMS @ 8 ohm and I have plenty of headroom.
