It just never ceases to amaze me!

#1 Post by camrynekai »

How bad ass Bills designs are...been running the big rig all season (QSC wide-line 10 (10 per side) with 8 2X18's and a new Digidesign venue console) Then I did a few shows with my O-top 2x12's and 24" T48's and all I can say is WOW!!! Bills cabs are in a whole different league...not to mention 100+ amps less power draw. Again Bill...GREAT work!

Chris, it was a fun build...just a bummer I never got a chance to hear all 12 @ once. I think next on my list will be 5 Wedgehorn 10's though ;)

I was wondering what exactly it was that you meant...I'm a little thick here. Are they as good or better? or louder? or cleaner?

Also, I was curious how many ohms your OT2x12s are.

Thanks.

His horn-loaded system is much more efficient (sensitive) than the front-loaded sytem he'd been running, so less amps are required. Less amps = less current draw. So, yeah, better ... louder "per volt (watt)" and cleaner due to the natural filtering by the horn paths.

Yeah...what he said :) and not to mention the throw is out standing    and you can walk right up on them at extreme levels and they wont hurt your ears...little if any distortion artifacts...eerily clean...although the Titans will rattle ya a bit

My O-tops are Bi-amped with Neo's...Mid-bass's powered by Peavey ICA1200's and tweets powered by a QSC 1400 and subs powered by a Crown XTI 6000.

Did you go piezo for the HF, or a CD solution?

I have a 13 piezo flat array per cab. These are 2nd generation O-top 2x12's, they have the throat filler and the optional necked horn.

Nice, and they hold their own compared to the Wideline 10 in sound quality?

Don't get me wrong the wideline 10 is a nice system...but Bills are by far clearer use much, much, much less power and have that large format PA sound that the wideline just doesn't have. The cons of Bills boxes....They are so clear that they will reveal poor talent and expect to get asked lots-o-questions about them by people in attendance
